Privacy policy

Last updated: 5 April 2026. We collect only what is needed to run accounts, listings, bookings, payments, trust checks, and support.

1. Who we are

IAMPresenting ("we", "us") operates the Everyday Marketplace website and application (the "Service"). This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, and your choices.

2. Information we collect

We may collect:

  • Account data — name, email, password (hashed by our systems), role, and profile details you choose to provide.
  • Listing and booking data — descriptions, photos, locations, messages, payment-related metadata, and support enquiries.
  • Identity verification— where you use integrated providers (e.g. Smile ID), data you submit and results returned subject to that provider's terms.
  • Technical data — device/browser type, IP address, approximate location derived from IP or GPS when you allow it, and usage logs for security and analytics.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • provide, secure, and improve the Service;
  • process bookings, payments, and payouts with payment partners;
  • communicate with you about your account, bookings, and policy changes;
  • detect fraud, abuse, and illegal activity;
  • comply with law and respond to lawful requests.

4. Sharing

We may share information with service providers (hosting, analytics, email, payments, identity checks) who process it on our instructions. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Retention and security

We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including legal, tax, and dispute resolution. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your rights

Depending on applicable law (including South Africa's POPIA where it applies), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Contact us using the details below to exercise these rights. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority where applicable.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies or local storage for sign-in sessions, preferences, and measurement. You can control cookies through your browser settings; some features may not work if you disable them.

8. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.

9. International transfers

Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

10. Changes

We may update this policy and will adjust the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.

11. Contact

For privacy questions, contact IAMPresenting at the support channel published on the Service or your account settings.
